Spike Theatre aims to take latest comedy to Edinburgh

Spike Theatre's most recent show was a tale of a group of underdogs travelling cross country to achieve their dream. The Games, a fantastic new comedy set in ancient Greece and inspired by the Olympics, saw its heroes overcoming a range of obstacles - including the mischief of the gods - to compete. Now, as the Hope Street theatre company prepares to take the production to this summer's Edinburgh Festival, in a way life is imitating art (perhaps without so many togas). With times as they are and less cash to splash on the arts all round, Spike is developing ways of fundraising in keeping with their community ethos that they hope will get more people spreading the word about their work, too.
